Terms & Conditions
Introduction
These Terms and Conditions explain how you can use the services provided by Kura For Young People CIC. When we say “services,” we mean everything we offer, including mentoring, workshops, training programmes, and events.
By signing up to our programmes, attending our sessions, or using our services in any way, you are agreeing to follow these terms. If there is anything you do not understand, you should ask us before taking part. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use our services.
About Our Organisation
Kura For Young People CIC is a community organisation set up to support young people in developing their skills, confidence, and future opportunities.
We do this by offering mentoring, employability support, training sessions, and wellbeing programmes. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive, and positive environment where young people can grow and succeed.
Who Our Services Are For
Our services are mainly designed for young people. However, different programmes may have different requirements, such as age limits or eligibility criteria.
If you are under the age of 18, we may need permission from your parent or guardian before you can take part in certain activities. This is to make sure you are properly supported and protected.
We may also decide that a particular programme is not suitable for someone, and we reserve the right to make that decision where necessary.
Providing Your Information
When you sign up or apply to join one of our programmes, we will ask you to provide some personal information.
You must make sure that the information you give us is accurate and up to date. For example, your contact details should be correct so we can reach you about sessions or updates.
If any of your details change, you should let us know as soon as possible.
If we discover that false or misleading information has been provided, we may have to remove you from the programme.
How Our Services Work
We always aim to provide high-quality support and deliver our programmes as planned. However, sometimes things may need to change.
For example, we may need to reschedule a session, change the format of a programme, or cancel an activity due to circumstances beyond our control.
While we will always do our best to support you, we cannot guarantee specific results, such as securing a job or placement. Our role is to guide and support you, but outcomes also depend on individual effort and external factors.
Your Responsibilities When Using Our Services
When you take part in our programmes, we expect you to behave in a respectful and responsible way.
This means treating staff, mentors, and other participants with kindness and respect at all times. It also means attending sessions as agreed and letting us know if you are unable to attend.
You should follow any instructions or guidance given during sessions, especially where safety is concerned.
If someone behaves in a way that is disruptive, disrespectful, or harmful to others, we may need to take action. This could include a warning or, in serious cases, removal from the programme.
Safeguarding and Safety
We take safeguarding very seriously, especially because we work with young people.
This means that if we have concerns about someone’s safety or wellbeing, we may need to share information with appropriate authorities or professionals. This is done to protect individuals from harm.
Our staff and volunteers are trained to follow safeguarding procedures, and all decisions are made with safety as the top priority.
How We Use Your Data
We will handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.
This means we will only use your information for appropriate reasons, such as delivering our services, contacting you about programmes, or improving what we offer.
You have the right to ask questions about how your data is used and to withdraw your consent in certain situations.
Photos, Videos and Media
Sometimes we may take photos or videos during our sessions or events. These may be used to promote our work, share success stories, or report to funders.
We will always ask for your permission before using any images where you can be identified. If you are under 18, we will also ask your parent or guardian for consent.
You are free to say no, and this will not affect your participation in our programmes.
Responsibility and Liability
We take care to provide a safe and supportive environment. However, there are limits to what we can be responsible for.
For example, we cannot accept responsibility for personal belongings that are lost, stolen, or damaged during sessions or events.
We are also not responsible for outcomes that are outside our control. However, nothing in these terms removes your legal rights under UK law.
Working With Other Organisations
We sometimes work with partner organisations, such as employers, mentors, or training providers.
If you engage directly with one of these partners, they may have their own rules or terms that you will need to follow.
While we aim to work with trusted partners, we are not responsible for services provided by other organisations.
Changes to These Terms
From time to time, we may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes in our services or the law.
When this happens, the updated version will be made available, usually on our website. If you continue to use our services after changes are made, this means you accept the updated terms.
Ending Your Participation
You are free to stop using our services at any time.
We may also decide to end your participation if necessary. This could happen if the terms are not followed, if behaviour is inappropriate, or if there are safeguarding concerns.
We will always aim to act fairly and explain our reasons where possible.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, we encourage you to let us know.
We will take your concerns seriously and aim to resolve any issues in a fair and timely manner.
